Synopsis
In the fall of 1962, Johnny Holiday arrives at the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia to begin work for the mysterious Forsythe Company. What appears to be an ordinary maintenance job takes him beneath the hotel and into Project Greek Island — a
massive, secret Cold War bunker supposedly built to shelter the United States Congress in the event of nuclear war.

For the next thirty years, Johnny lives two lives: one above ground with Emily, the woman he loves, and another beneath it, quietly maintaining a facility few Americans know exists. But as presidents change, the Cold War deepens and strange men move through the bunker, Johnny and Emily begin to understand that Congress may only be the cover story. Their search leads them to the Providence Protocol — a plan not for continuity of government, nor some imagined New World Order, but for military control of whatever remains after catastrophe.

By 1992, the Soviet Union is gone and Johnny’s long watch at the Greenbrier is ending. He retires believing the secret that haunted their lives can finally be buried with the Cold War.

Then, the telephone rings.

A voice speaks in Russian.
